What is central heating with a heat accumulator?

Central heating with a heat accumulator is a heating system that uses a heat storage device to store heat produced during periods of low energy demand, usually at night, and releases it when heating demand is higher, especially during the day.

The main advantage of this system is the heat accumulator, which is a heat reservoir capable of storing energy in the form of heat. During off-peak hours, an auxiliary heater (usually a heat pump) heats this heat accumulator. The heat thus “kept in reserve” is then distributed throughout your home at just the right moment, ensuring continuous, economical heating. This system helps reduce energy demand and optimize energy use, which can lead to significant savings on heating bills.

You may be eligible for a grant for the purchase and installation of a heat accumulator.
